ERICH CAPARAS MPC - FASHION START TO FINISH

From Tampa Florida and Philippines

Meet Erich Caparas MPC - They say the best way to learn is to teach. Erich has been learning since 1977 and as part of expanded learning does workshops in photography and post processing. His workshops will show you how to use the fundamentals of photography and post processing to get “the LOOK”. Anyone can Photoshop these days, however, by learning the fundamentals of Photoshop, you will be able to create your own style and workflow accordingly. It’s easy. Photoshop is very intuitive if you have the proper guidance and mindset. He will show you how easy it is!

Erich has been photographing since 1977 and has used Photoshop since 1990 before being sold to Adobe. In 1993, Adobe introduced layers in Photoshop where Erich was involved in doing testing and samples for Photoshop.

His work appeared in many digital and photographic magazines in the 90's. He has won countless International Awards in conjunction with major digital expos. Major companies including National Geographic, Discovery Channel, and Smithsonian Institution have showcased his work. His editorials have appeared in almost 100 fashion magazines.

He has as well won countless International awards from a number of Professional Organization including winning TOP International Photographer with the MPI Organization two years running. He has as well been named Photographer of the Year in the UK for two Professional Organizations including being a final runner up for the World Photographic Cup. 

Erich is a Master Photographer in various professional organizations and recently earned his Masters in Commercial Photography with MPI - Master Photographers International.

WORKSHOP - Part One ( Fashion Creative Demonstration) 

May 1st - 1:30 PM - 5 PM (Cardel Theatre) 

Part One of Erich’s Workshop will be a live demonstration on a Fashion Creative Shoot where Erich will show you his secrets on the lighting and posing. Bring your camera – some time will be allowed at the end of the workshop to capture images of the creative.

WORKSHOP - Part Two (Fashion Processing)

May 2nd - 8:00 AM - 10:30 AM (Cardel Theatre)

Part Two of Erich’s Workshop will be on post processing where he displays some ticks to his flawless fashion post processing.

Whether you are a fashion or portrait photographer – you will leave this workshop with tons of inspiration and knowledge!

 

CRAIG MINIELLY MPC - ON LOCATION AND UNDERWATER PORTRAITS  

From Vancouver BC, Canada   

 

Craig Minielly is an internationally accomplished photographer, and not just to one style. He has won numerous awards in over 15 Specialty Fields and has been published worldwide for the last 30 years.

With a passion for light styling and a flair for location opportunities, his image creations are a combination of diverse influences from the editorial world he started in, the commercial world he thrived in, and the portrait world he has always been a part of. As a pioneer within the digital revolution, Craig was, and still is, one of the influential forces in creating and developing workflow techniques and habits that are still being used by individuals, studios and corporations all over the globe.

Craig has a long line of credentials from Canada and the USA, earning his Certified Professional Photographer, his Master and Craftsman in Photographic Arts and his Master Photographer in Commercial. He’s also the recipient of Five Photographer of the Year Awards in Canada, the US and Internationally.

Craig’s experience over the years has given him the opportunity to become a Nikon Ambassador and a Professional Photography Instructor where he is called upon internationally to host various workshops. Lately his experience brings him too many parts of the world where he organizes and spearheads educational photography tours.

WORKSHOP - Part One (Underwater Artistic Portraits)

April 30th - 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM (Inglewood Aquatic Centre

Part One of Craig's Workshop will be a live demonstration on capturing Underwater Portraits. Craig recently won the Class Award for underwater portraits and he will show you how you also can create wonderful artistic underwater portraits. Underwater water portraits can be used for unique portrait in many areas including trash the dress in wedding photography, in child portraits and in fine art portraits.  

WORKSHOP - Part Two (Underwater Portraits and Location Portraits and Lighting) 

May 1st - 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM (Cardel Theatre) 

Part Two of Craig's Workshop will be on location portraits. Craig will show you how you can capture high quality portraits on location with Speedlight and will also talk about the basics of posing. 

WORKSHOP - Part Three (Image Review and Workflow) 

May 2nd - 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM (Cardel Theatre) 

Part three of Craig's workshop will be to share and demonstrate a number of his best practices when it comes to workflow and processing.

 

 

RAFAL WEGIEL - CREATING SUCCESSFUL HEADSHOTS AND BUSINESS PORTRAITS

From Calgary AB, Canada

Rafal Wegiel is an internationally-recognized fashion, portrait and headshot photographer.

In today's social media world, your headshot or profile image is like your business card. Rafal focuses on creating the best representation of his clients while capturing their personality.

His work allows him to constantly explore diversity of humans, inviting the viewers to see people’s inner beauty through the camera lens.

Rafal is also actively involved with Fashion Calgary with his wife Ania where they focus on long-term growth for emerging designers, boutiques, art galleries, beauty salons and restaurants bringing them into the spotlight as emerging, and established names in top-tier, and premier positions.

During his career, Rafal has provided photography coverage at a number of fashion and beauty shows in North America and Europe. His work has been published in a number of magazines and newspapers.

Rafal is very well known in the Calgary limelight as the to go photographer for headshots to many of the Calgary Celebrities.

WORKSHOP -  Creating Successful Headshots and Business Portraits

Rafal, will be demonstrating and will be speaking about how you can as well create successful headshots and business portraits.

Join us for this great opportunity to learn from some of the best in the industry. On May 1st and 2nd the workshops will be hosted at the Cardel Theatre. Don't wait too long to register as there is limited seating for this theatre. 

The Theatre will be open at 8:00 am, for beverages prior to the workshops. IMA will as well be offering bottled water for the event.
